Shakespeare in the Squares returns to London with The Taming of the Shrew
Shakespeare in the Squares is thrilled to announce its much-awaited return to London’s picturesque garden squares and green spaces this summer with The Taming of the Shrew, Shakespeare’s comedy battle of wits, wills and wild romance with toe-tapping pop classics.
Shakespeare in the Squares is a not-for-profit touring theatre company that stages a new Shakespearean play across London for one night in each venue every summer. This year’s program features 31 performances across 25 beautiful London locations. The tour kicks off on Wednesday 4th June in Leinster Square, W2, and concludes over five weeks later in The Actors’ Church Garden, WC2. Press night is scheduled for Wednesday 12th June at Cleveland Square, W2. Casting is due to be announced in May.
Shakespeare in the Squares is a cornerstone of London’s summer cultural calendar, renowned for tailoring each performance to the unique venue, providing the audience with a truly unique show every time. The company collaborates closely with the garden committees and other local organisations to foster an intimate experience for each London community.
