De Matos Ryan triumphs at the 2025 RIBA Awards

We are thrilled to celebrate architecture firm De Matos Ryan who have taken home four prestigious RIBA Awards, recognising their outstanding contribution to design, education and community.

De Matos Ryan’s Wonderlab: The Bramall Gallery for the National Railway Museum achieved  three remarkable awards, winning the RIBA Yorkshire Award 2025, RIBA Yorkshire Project Architect of the Year 2025 and RIBA Yorkshire Building of the Year 2025 (sponsored by EH Smith)

Wonderlab: The Bramall Gallery is an interactive gallery designed to inspire future generations of engineers and inventors. With inter-generational appeal, it focuses on captivating the minds of 7 to 14 year olds to spark their interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

De Matos Ryan’s fourth award came in collaboration with AOC Architecture for the transformation of the Museum of Childhood into Young V&A, which was awarded the RIBA London Award 2025.

The Museum of Childhood has been transformed to create Young V&A, the UK’s first museum built with and for young people. Designed to foster creative curiosity and confidence in the next generation, it is the most significant intervention in the Grade II* listed building’s 151 year history.

Congratulations to the entire De Matos Ryan team on this well deserved recognition!
