Shakespeare in the Squares announces cast for All’s Well That Ends Well

Shakespeare in the Squares today announces the full cast for their return to London’s green spaces this summer with Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well with gypsy swing music and a fairy tale twist. 

Sioned Jones directs Miya Alexandra (Diana/Lady in Waiting), Fiona Bruce (Countess/Widow), Lee Drage (Lafew/Lord Dumaine 2), Toby Gordon (Parolles/Assistant Director), Claire-Monique Martin (King/ Mariana/1st Soldier), Kalifa Taylor (Helena), Jack Ward (Bertram), and Jacob Yolland (Lord Dumaine 1/ Gentleman). The tour opens on 5th June at Leinster Square, W2 and runs until 12th July at Cleveland Square, W2.

Shakespeare in the Squares is a highlight of London’s cultural agenda each summer. With a commitment to tailoring each performance to its venue, the company provides the audience with a truly unique show every time. The company works closely with the garden committees and other local organisations to foster an intimate experience for each London community. With 32 performances across 26 venues, this year’s tour is the company’s most ambitious season to date.

Shakespeare in the Squares celebrates its seventh anniversary with an all-new production of All’s Well That Ends Well with a fairy tale twist and gypsy swing music.

Miiya Alexandra plays Diana / Lady in Waiting. Miya trained at ArtsEd, London and The Royal College of Music. Theatre credits include Ensemble/Understudied and played Anna Leonowens and Lady Thiang in The King and I (London Palladium, UK/International tour), Delphine in Amelie The Musical (Criterion), Mother Gothel/Duchess in Rapunzel (The Watermill), Dormouse in Alice in Wonderland (Mercury Theatre), Maria/Futura in Metropolis (The Ye Olde Rose and Crown) where Miya was nominated for an Off West End Theatre Award for Best Female in a Musical. Film credits include The King and I - Live from the London Palladium.

Fiona Bruce plays Countess / Widow. Fiona trained at Studio 68 in London and Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Fiona played Baruska in the original production of Once the Musical (Phoenix Theatre, London). Since then, she has performed in various productions of Once, including the Charlotte Theatre in Seoul, South Korea, the Barn Theatre production in Cirencester and toured China with the Lambert Jackson production of Once. Other theatre credits include Grandmother and Summer Witch in The Snow Queen (Theatre by the Lake in Keswick and London Touring Players at Beaulieu Abbey), Joan Todd in 84 Charing Cross Road (Cambridge Arts Theatre), Mrs. Fezziwig in Scrooge (Pitlochry Festival Theatre), Mother Courage in Mother Courage (Watford Palace Theatre), Camille Claudel in The Waltz (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Jenny in Threepenny Opera (London Bubble Theatre),  Queen Elizabeth in Richard lll (Illyria Theatre Company), Beth Cuxom in The Mayor of Casterbridge (Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham), Mrs Bumble in Oliver Twist (Bolton Octagon) and Olga in Playing for Time (Salisbury Playhouse). TV credits include Last of the Summer Wine, The Royal, Emmerdale, Where the Heart Is, Heartbeat, Prime Suspect, The Ward, Grange Hill, Taggart and Coronation Street. Film credits include Scot Free, Connected and Brothers of War.

Lee Drage plays Lafew / Lord Dumaine 2. Lee trained at the Guildford School of Acting. Theatre credits include Twelfth Night (Shakespeare in the Squares), The Threepenny Opera (Minack Theatre), Aloe Aloe (Bush Theatre), The Spanish Tragedy (Old Red Lion), Chariots of Fire (Gielgud, West End), Oh What A Lovely War (UK tour), The Water Engine (Old Vic Tunnels), The Hot Mikado (Watermill Theatre), Saturday Night (Jermyn St Theatre). Television credits include Silo (Apple TV). As a comedian, he has performed at VAULT festival, Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe and was nominated for an Off West End Theatre Award for his show Shit Samaritans.

Assistant Director Toby Gordon plays Parolles. Toby trained at LAMDA. His theatre credits include Small Change (Omnibus Theatre); The Wolf of Wall Street and The Great Gatsby (Hartshorn Hook); York Mystery Plays (York Minster); Antigone (Barbican). This will mark his return to Shakespeare in the Squares after his turn as the Duke Orsino and Sir Toby Belch in last year’s touring production of Twelfth Night.

Claire-Monique Martin plays King / Mariana / First Soldier. She is an Actor-Musician who trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA). UK stage credits include Antigone, A New Way to Pay Old Debts, The Great Gatsby Musical, The London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony: The Isle of Wonders, The Merchant of Venice, Murder in the Cathedral, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Turandot Reimagined, Jerry Springer: The Opera, The Last Tycoon, Muse, Dora Versus Picasso, Macbeth, Rumble!, Twelfth Night, No For An Answer, Electra Untitled. International Stage credits include The Canterbury Tales (Spain), Julius Caesar (NYC), Blue Stockings (NYC), Long Lost John (NYC), Love Me Tender (NYC), This is Me (NYC), I Love You All the World & Sixpence (NYC), Enemy of the People (NYC), Animal Farm (Italy) and Pygmalion (Europe). Screen credits include Castles, Between the Salt Water and the Sea, The World's Deadliest Serial Killers, A Slow Suffocation, Honey Cycle, The Fiddle Player, D-Train, To You, Embryo, Waiting for Liz, and Isabelle.

Kalifa Taylor plays Helena. Her theatre credits include: Noises Off West End (directed by Lindsay Posner); Hamlet (directed by Ricky Dukes with Lazarus Theatre at Southwark Playhouse); Laura and Sophia (Pistachio Theatre Company); Feel More X Lately (Proforca Theatre); Look Who’s All Grown Up (directed by Ella Murdoch); Selected Recordings of Us (directed by Gabriele Uboldi); Money Heist: The Experience (directed by Ben Lambert); Tomb King (The League of Adventure); The Gunpowder Plot Immersive Experience (directed by Hannah Price, Rose Jones, and Megan Stewart); War Inside (Vaults Festival) and 1000 Ways The World Will End (& How It Starts Again) (directed by Alice Robb with Dogmouth Theatre Company).

Jack Ward plays Bertram. Jack trained as an actor musician at Guildford School of Acting. Television credits include Bridgerton (Netflix). Jack’s theatre credits include Colin in The Secret Garden (Pitlochry Festival Theatre), Sailor/Young Collector in A Streetcar Named Desire (Pitlochry Festival Theatre), Angie in Gypsy (Pitlochry Festival Theatre), three outdoor productions (London Touring Players), ensemble roles in The Comedy of Errors and Ghost Stories, and Kai in The Snow Queen (London Touring Players). In his final year at GSA, he played the role of Mr Dussel in the BA Actor Musicians’ production of The Diary of Anne Frank, his early theatre experience includes several productions with the National Youth Music Theatre: Brass (2016), Billy the Kid (2017) and Superhero (2018). Jack is a woodwind specialist.

Jacob Yolland plays Lord Dumaine 1 / Gentleman. Jacob trained at the Guildford School of Acting. Theatre credits include: The Conductor in The Polar Express Train Ride (Mid-Norfolk Railway); Postman/Bus Conductor and 1st Cover Mr Lyons, Sammy, and Policeman/Teacher in Blood Brothers (UK Tour); Wish (Cast, Doncaster); Prince Charming in Cinderella (The Drill, Lincoln); Lead Vocalist for Alice in Wonderland/Jungle Book/Treasure Island/Dolce Vita (Creativiva Caribbean); Newt Lee/Mr Peavy in Parade (Frogmore Paper Mill). Further credits include Jammy Dodgers (Colour & Light Productions), Bell Beyond T.I.E Italian Tour (Bell Beyond English Language Learning), and Curse of the Lost Tomb (Chessington World of Adventures). Concert credits include Olivier Award 40th Anniversary Concert (BBC Radio 3). 

Director Sioned Jones is an actress and theatre-maker and has previously performed in A Midsummer Night’s Dream for the company. As a director, her credits include Ljubljana Junction (Roborough Studios), Cocktail Conversation, Madame Life, Christmas Presence (Union Theatre), Basket (Edinburgh Fringe Festival) and Expectations (Oval House Theatre). As an actress, her credits include Small Change (Omnibus Theatre), Martha, Josie and The Chinese Elvis (Park Theatre), Bury The Dead (Brickdust Theatre/Finborough Theatre), Lettice and Lovage (Menier Chocolate Factory), Thirteen, Women Beware Women and All’s Well That Ends Well (National Theatre). This is the third show she has directed for Shakespeare in the Squares.
